“Essentia Tenebris” describes a state in which the interior no longer pushes outward, but gathers, becomes dense, sufficient within itself. Depth does not emerge from emptiness, but from presence, from something that withdraws without disappearing.
It is not a gaze into the obscure, but into something that refuses full accessibility.
Here, darkness does not carry nothingness, but what is too dense to become clear.
